Materials 98% of each handle is made up of a polyamide derived from castor oil. Coloured with a vegan dye. Everything is made in France, even the mould. Each head consists of an ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) base, a thermoplastic with excellent resistance to shocks and humidity. There’s also a metal ring and the bristles. Bamboo toothbrushes are an alternative to disposable toothbrushes, but they don’t go as far as Lamazuna’s replaceable-head toothbrushes. They become darker over time, can leave a strange taste in the mouth, and you still have to throw them away when you’ve finished using them. A bamboo toothbrush is not 100% compostable. Only the handle can be composted – on the condition that it hasn’t been varnished. The nylon bristles and the metal staples often required to hold them in place cannot be composted. A bamboo toothbrush is never made in France. It has to be transported from China!
